Abigail Masel is an emerging Appalachian artist based in West Virginia, with a primary focus on painting nature. Often, Masel experiments with various styles and mediums, but she mostly works with acrylic paint and graphite. Although Masel chose to pursue a B.A. in Environmental Science, she believes this background enhances her ability to think deeply and intricately about the subjects she paints. In addition, she has lived in other parts of the Appalachian region, so she also draws inspiration from the diverse flora and fauna found in the Appalachian mountains and the southern waters.
