Levi Simpkins (he/they) is a West Virginian visual artist who primarily creates paintings and sculptures and is also known by their drag persona, Indigo Richwood (she/they). Levi’s visual artwork explores personal themes of growing up and existing as a queer person in West Virginia as well as broader themes of living in Appalachia and the queer experience. Indigo’s performance art explores societal concepts of masculinity and femininity as well as absurdity through gender performativity.
