Paula Kaufman lives in Randolph County, West Virginia where she teaches English in the public schools. She is completing a book of illustrations called Mountain Fairies: Magic in Appalachia. She has created paintings of 250 fairies representing West Virginia trees, fungi and flowers for the book.
